Strengths:
Campbell, OH has an abundance of resources located both within the city itself and the surrounding areas. All of the resources offer information and education to residents, which is important because prevention and preparation are key to successful safety systems, especially in situations such as fires, floods, tornados, storms, chemical spills, and bioterrorism. The city of Campbell's police department has also recently updated all of their security camera systems, which has already proven successful in preventing crimes. With the exception of 2007-2009, with a peak in 2007, the crime rate has typically been lower than the national average. All of the recent upgrades within the police department contribute to decreased response times and more officers in the streets instead of at the department. |
Weaknesses:
The police department had been utilizing an old and faulty surveillance system until 2014 when they finally updated it, which could have caused a serious threat to safety and security. The city of Campbell currently only has one fire department, while some cities have two or three. Utilizing multiple fire departments can decrease response times and increase outcomes for residents. Although there are plenty of resources available to the residents of Campbell, OH, the city could increase the utilization of them by offering incentives for people to become informed and even certified in areas such as emergency preparedness and fire safety. |
